Aude Bronson-Howard is a distinguished fashion, costume, textile, accessories, product and interior designer. Aude’s cultured and cultivated eye stems from her European upbringing, world travels to exotic movie locations, and design assignments that took her from textile mills in Lake Como, to tile and bronze factories in the outskirts of Paris, from furniture sourcing expeditions in Brussels to artisanal workshops in the rural US.
Aude’s distinctive esthetic was formed, and her creative discipline honed by the varied layers of her design exposure and experience. The unique scope of her creative practice led her to the recognition that the foundational design process for fashion, costume, product and interior work was very much the same. The first step for Aude is always a clearly articulated and researched concept, the work continues through the critical sourcing stage, and finally the careful production and assemblage of all the related components.
Whether “constructing” a 1920’s flapper dress for a movie actor on a major feature film or collecting reclaimed wood for a dining bench in an upstate cottage, the process elements were remarkably similar. Choosing cabinets for a kitchen, or fabric for a tuxedo, conceptualizing structural changes to a living space and populating that space with beautiful furnishings, fixtures and art -- it all begins with a full understanding of the client’s needs and results in a highly customized and eminently livable home.
Aude subscribes to the importance of a properly proportioned spaces and layering the best of modern design with collected antique, vintage and custom items; using existing furnishings, fixtures and art or searching tirelessly for the right addition for a newly-designed or constructed space
Aude’s costume work has been seen in academy award-winning movies and her custom products have been featured in luxury magazines and national newspapers, and sold in major department stores and specialty retailers across the US.
Her latest interior design projects include a large residence in Westchester county and a newly renovated and designed home in the Hudson Valley. She has recently begun work with a young family on a new build in Woodstock, New York.
ABH HOME DESIGN is a New York-based full-service design studio, new to the Hudson Valley, specializing in the blending of structure, materials, objects and furnishings to create successfully integrated residential or commercial spaces. ABH Home Design takes a thorough approach to each collaboration by overseeing all aspects of design from the interior plan, to the furniture, fixtures and finishes. A shared project vision is critical, and we achieve that by building a relationship between clients and architects, builders and artisans, thereby ensuring a united objective throughout the association.
Each client provides the general framework for our scope of work. Projects can range from our participation in everything from general construction or renovation activities to the selection and installation of all products and furnishings.
